Not having any luck getting a response to this on the I.C.E. forum, so fingers crossed someone that doesn't read that but reads this will know the answer.

Am trying to replace the factory fit head unit on my Sporting with a JVC unit. The cables are in the wrong place, and it seems to be wired differently from other Puntos as it's not just a case of swapping over two cables.

Does anyone know what the pink/black, pink/white and violet cables relate to on a standard ISO cable? I'm going mad trying to find this info, and Fiat are trying to claim they need to charge me £12 to look at a wiring diagram and let me know what the colours relate to (funnily enough, I'm loathe to spend this).

Any help would be *greatly* appreciated.

Cheers.

hi not sure if this is any help or not but

have you looked at the factory stereo when you took it out??? on mine there is a small wiring diagram sticker stuck to it see if you have one.

i have a 2001 sporting wich is a mk2 not like yours but on mine the pink black is mute and pink white is mute ground. i am looking at the haynes manaul and wiring diagram sticker on old head unit to get you thsi info. i do not seem to have a violet wire on my stereo though.
on my mk2 the colours for th power connector acccording to haynes manual are

pink/black = mute
pink/white = mute ground
blue/green = switchable live
grey = auto antena (sends signal for sub to turn on)
black = earth
red/black = permanent live
red/white = another permanent live
yellow/green = ????????? this is marked as not connected to origianl setereo so what the wire does is anyones guess lol

as i mentioned i do not have a violet colored wire in teh power block

hope this is of some help.

what happens when you connect your stereo up as it is ?? does ity turn on??
