Hello!
The ISM light has always been a problem in my car.
The previous owner (my father) checked this problem in 2 or 3 services, but all said there is nothing wrong with the car and there is nothing to do with this light
Me and my stepfather (mechanic) somehow got to this sensor:

(sorry for the size of the pictures, took them in a hurry)
When i disconnect it while the engine is running - the light turns on
When i connect it and push the throttle a little - it turns off
(didnt work when i 1st disconnected the sensor... but nevermind, i did this several month ago and it had the same effect from the first time)
So my question is - what is the purpose of this sensor?
(temp of the air, amount of the air or something else?)

Here are some pictures of the light i'm talking about
(the engine is off 'cause it's very hard to catch the light on, while the engine is running. It can stay off for weeks)

PS sorry for my poor English.

Hi,

I own a 1996 Tempra 1.6 too. I think that the sensor should be Air Flow Sensor. My car facing this problem too. I did take any action and the car run ok.
