The engine makes a weird noise. I think that Is the timing chain, but I am not sure... Also after a 30min drive check engine lamp will come on, after that on idle revs are lower, and it starts shaking. What could be?

If its the original chain..

CHANGE IT NOW..!!

that is basically its service life..

Heat could make it seem loose and upset the running.

If the chain breaks the engine will need $$$

Did timing chains have issues in these engines? Sounds like a cold diesel engine with bad glow plugs too.

But the sound is consistant. A friend told me that could be the water pump... It's definetly going to a service as soon as possible. Thanks.
