My outside driver door handle has come loose at its forward connection to the door and I wondered if this has happened to anyone else? I admit to being a bit rough when pulling the handle when checking to see if it was locked and it suddenly came loose. I am unsure whether something has broken or a small connector has fallen out. I have attached a photo of what I can see...
It seems I will eventually need to dismantle the inner door lining to get at the handle from the inside, but I would appreciate any advice.

...bit of an update today...I did more research on Youtube and located footage from the USA which included the part number I probably need to replace the hinge at the front of the outer handle (#0051964555-001) and showing how to dismantle the inner door to gain access. I should be okay now after purchasing the hinge off Ebay for £3.99 delivered.
I get the impression this is a common problem (and an MOT failure).

Its a common 500 failure.. lots of info on there

SEARCH on here is very good too

Try to get a genuine hinge, the cheap ones don't fit very well.
