Hi All
The wife has had her new second hand car just a week and she is having issues with the stop / start
The light with an S was on and a light which was a triangle with a exclamation mark on it.

The garage says its because the battery may be low on power .
Tonight i have been out in the car and all the lights are out when the stop / start is turned on but if i turn it off the S light comes on and stops on until you turn the ignition off then it stays off
IS this right

The car is a Fiat 500 lounge 1.2 8v

Of you press the stop/start button to turn it off the light on the dash will stay on to tell you that it's off. Press it agin and the light goes out to tell you it's on.

Hi thank you for the info can i ask will the light stop on all the time the stop / start is turned off ? even after the ignition has been turned off and on as ours goes out does that mean the auto start / stop is on again

Ok just switched off the stop/start and turned off the engine. Waited a few minutes then turned the engine on. The stop/start light was still on. So from that test it looks like you have to reactivate it yourself.

Thank you for looking at your car for me it looks like the wife's car may have a fault as when i turn the ignition back on there is no light Unless i have to turn the engine on as you have [ i have just re-read what you have wrought :bang: ]
I will have to have another look in the morning
I will let you know tomorrow what i find

Hi all
Today we have been out in the 500 and tried the stop /start this is how it worked

drove with the S&S on all worked as it should then turned the S&S off S light on dash
I then stopped the car switched engine and ignition off turned ignition on NO S LIGHT on dash .
I started the engine no S light on dash then drove the car, at a junction tried the S&S and it worked as i think it should [ re-set its self to S&S mode ]
I hope this all is how the car should work if so

As for the triangle light that came on in the first place its not been on any more about that
