lots of these on ebay claim to work with FES and MES but some dont

seller autofixdirect sent me one of theirs for testing, its works fine, connects to engine ecu and can no problem.

Funnily enough, I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago... -- just had to use it 'in anger' for the first time, and -- as you say -- works flawlessly!

[Speedgear warning light started flashing; but MES couldn't detect any faults, apart from an old one -- which I cleared. Unplugging the battery for 5 minutes cleared it.... I suspect it's the rear light cluster (with the reversing light) again... -- I shall have to give it another fettling....]
