Correct,

the 8 valves are "safe" non-contact,

the 16v are the opposite = expensive,

Very easy to replace, I know as daughter's Punto 60 had belt failure and I already had the belt and tensioner to do the necessary work; she hadn't got round to bringing it to me. The Panda 750 she had broke the belt as I was taking it off; it just crumbled in my hands!
