I wonder if anyone can help?

I have a 1999 Brava 1.2 80 16v, It starts and runs really well, until I'm on a dual carriage way etc. and put my foot down. The car then accelerates fine but once the foot comes off, it seems to do something as the car then misfires, judders, slows down and wont accelerate again at all.

If I stop the engine I can then drive on as long as I pick up speed slowly.:bang:

Can someone shine some light on this for me?

Sorry, couldn't resist :devil:

my hyundai coupe did the same thing and it turned out to be one of the ignition leads on the way out

Plugs and ignition leads, infact all HT compenents can cause misfires under full power demands.

A process of elimination may be required starting with the plugs.
