Ok, my water pump is a bit old and whatnot, but when i hold it under water it works really well, but once its dry, it doesnt move well. I cant afford to buy a new one, so how can i refurbish this one?

I already did my idler pulley, i popped open the bearings and repacked them and stuff, they were in good shape. just need to do my water pump and ill be ok.
