Is it just me, or has anybody noticed how the rubber grip on the clutch pedal wears out very quickly and falls to pieces. I've done 28,000 miles in my car and i've just put a third one on it. Could it be due to me being a driving instructor and the clutch getting more use. Just a very small problem, but i'd be interested if anyone else has noticed this:D

err... uhhh....ehhhh....nnnggggg..... paaahhhh! Nope can't hold it in......... nnggggg........arrrrghhhh...... Its commin'......nnnngggg....aaaarrggghh....

So do you not teach your "pupils" how to use the clutch pedal then! [)] I was always told that when i was finished with the clutch to get my foot the hell away from it until i was ready to change gear again! ;)

If your on the 3rd clutch pedal how many clutch cables, clutches and gearboxes have you had? :p

Naah, honest i love driving instructors, just a shame what you have to work with eh! ;) Why do kids today bother, when they've got to hock their liver to afford the insurance! B)

stiloactive ... mate same problem here .... ive done nearly 25000km with mine stilo and the clutch rubber is mess ... falls in pieces ... and stiloboy belive me i KNOW to drive properly ... the bloody rubber is bul****.
Anyway stiloactive ill find the solution in buying the aluminium kit pedals for the stilo from the accessories catalogue ... what do you think?Aluminium cannot wear out as quick as the rubber :)

I did lessons in a new diesel polo and the clutch rubber went like that after less than 5000 miles.

When you've finished Stiloboy. I was refering to the amount of time my car is controlled using the clutch ie. manouvering very slowly. Turn in the road, reverse to the left/right, parallel park. Do you remember how to do that?:)

stiloboy it might be the fact that you start in 3rd to make your consumption less cause i know that you carry a lot about the fuel.

You seem a bit unhappy now Stiloboy. I've been fortunate to only have minor niggles so far.
