Hello

I have a Fiat Stilo 1.9 Multijet 120HP in which there was a problem with the gearbox. Repair is completely unprofitable, therefore I decided to replace it with another one. So I have a question, is the gear box in this version of the engine is the same type as in the 115 HP version? According to EPER, its number is 71738080. Thank for any help.

I received a message from an authorized service center. They claim that a 5-speed Getrag gearbox with the designation to the 115HP version is marked C538.5.26. To 120HP version 5-speed Getrag gearbox is marked symbol C530.5. It's a little strange because all the gearboxes that i have searched on the google to 115 and 120HP are marked symbol C605 on the housing.

The shape is exactly the same - looking after the offers on the gearbox for both engine versions. But one of the Fiat service workers has told me, that the gearbox body may be the same, while the gear ratios can be different.

That's true... but some of the markings on the casing might just be marks to show which company made the gearbox or at which plant, if there are more than one manufacturer or facility. They do the same thing with pistons for example.

If the part number Fiat uses is the same for the 115 and the 120, then the markings on the case shouldn't matter.

Anyway... unless you find a "120" gearbox, it looks like your choices are "115" (which might be the same or it might not) or "carry on looking".
