Anyone knows where the central locking unit is located ?

Hope u cam help me :)

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

The Stilo doesn't have an individual central locking unit. It's controlled by electronic components integrated within the car's Body Computer (the grey box attached to the back of the dashboard fuse box), and ECUs located inside the driver and passenger doors, and another ECU under the rear seat to control the rear doors and boot/tailgate locking.

What problem are you trying to diagnose?
.

Thank u very much :)
My problem is that my remote controlled key dont Works and that i can only open the car in the passenger side. (The lock is Broken in the driver side. )
I considdered to buy a remote key and a remote unit on ebay.
Any suggestions what i can do orkide nyt?

Thanks for your nice answer :)

OK so if I'm understanding correctly you're saying that your remote control key does not work.

If you use the key in the door the central locking does work, but you can only do this in the passenger door as the driver door is broken.

If I'm correct then I understand what is going on.

It is quite a common fault that the car will "forget" it's remote controls and therefore the remotes stop working.

In the UK cars were only supplied with one remote so if the car forgets that remote, you've got none which work.

You have to re-learn or teach the car about the remote control again. To do this is really simple, but you need some particular equipment to do so.

You have to have the car's security code. You may have been supplied this with the car from new. In the UK they are not allowed to give you the code with the car. We have to go and buy the security code from the Fiat Dealer - you may have to do the same.

You also need the full version of MultiECUScan and an ELM cable modified to work with MultiECUScan. The cables are easily available off eBay.

The software then has a function to let you teach the car about the remote control again.

The other option is that you will have to ask the dealer to teach the car about the remote control again - they can do this for you.

Spot on artermis - i can confirm we have both had to do this and i have done this for other members on here already

i am having a somewhat similar problem but different. my key remote suddenly stopped working so i had to use the key on the door to open. i connected fiat ecu scan and relearned all my keys. in the beggining it worked but after 5 min it stopped. the funny thing is i look in the menu that the remotes are communicating with the ecu since the option says door lock unlocked pressed released. what could the problem be?

I can't unlock with the fob either. I have MES so could sort it if i had the code. I know different dealers charge different prices (one on Hull is cheaper than one in Grimsby). Is there any way to get code without paying dealer to look it up ?? if not does anyone know which dealer charges the least.

I got mine from the dealer in Grimsby. They just charged a flat 1hr labour rate, which is a little excessive for the sake of a 4 digit code but in the grand scheme of things not a massive bill associated with a car. They of course don't want you to do the programming yourself, they'd rather get the income from programming, so they're trying to minimise their losses aren't they.

I do recall a guy on here made a freedom of information request to Retainer Group, which is the company which holds all the codes, and managed to get his code I think for free. Can't remember his username now but seem to remember his name is Ross. You could explore that avenue.
