I thought I would start a new thread as I had another about burning oil in my fiat stilo which thanks to all the forums help has been resolved. Ive reported on the same thread that my vacuum pump housing has cracked causing other damage. I thought I should move it to a new thread so I can keep people posted on progress and seek help where possible. Ive already had 3 great tips on the other thread here is the link https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/443...-bit-oil-post4293395.html?443121=#post4293395.

The upshot is my Stilo stopped engine stalled and when i lifted the bonnet I could see oil stayed about near the engine cover right hand side. Removed and turning the engine over was obvious that the vacuum pump housing was cracked spilling oil. I have disassembled it all and found the vacuums housing cracked , the top right cam shaft bearing top cover broken and the end of the camshaft "key" snapped off one side. No obvious reason just 135Km on the clock (genuine) recently replaced timing belt (marks still lined up) and recently replaced turbo to resolve a oil use problem. 2 pieces of advice Ive had: 1. replace the camshaft and the vacuum pump, or 2: replace the head . Ill advise shortly that way I'm going must admit Camshaft feels easier to do that the whole head. Any other tips or ideas very welcome that thanks to all the guys who've contributed thus far!
