Just off the phone from Fiat UK who tell me the 2.4 20V Abarth is NOT E10 compliant. They had no information on E5. I wonder if E5 is considered non-corrosive enough to be considered as 'normal' petrol. As E15 is coming (already available actually) and E10 will shortly become the norm, it all makes me a little uneasy. This research was prompted by an episode of phase separation of fuel in another car that was unused for just six weeks. Still working through that problem now. :bang:

im more bothered about my Coupe than my Stilo... although having read a few sites on t'interwebs it would seem that this is massive problem if they decide to roll it out in a big way

I like things simple, but there's a lot of smoke and mirrors being exercised on this subject. Surely if a car is not E10 compliant, it's not E5 compliant. It either has materials in the fuel system that are attacked by Ethanol or it doesn't. Aside from all the compatibility issues, which are a real problem for the owners of older vehicles, there's the shelf life of bio fuel. 60 - 100 days max. My fuel went off in just 40 days, it's a real PITA (n)

Fortunately I'm not far from Platts Garage in Marlow, Bucks, and they are proud to be selling non-bio fuel (E0) so I'll be shopping there for my petrol (though a little far for you Rich). They also still sell leaded four star bless 'em. I'll be using that for my lawn mowers etc. FWIW I believe they sell Murco, so you might find a supplier near you.
