Did you guys know that you can reset the "service due" message and service interval by pressing and holding the trip button while ignition is off, turn ignition on while holding it, then keep it pressed for 10 seconds and voila - service interval is reset

I tried it just this morning.. then "brake lamp fail" appeared.. but no "service due"

I managed to reset mine once accidentally while on holiday. For the life of me never could remember what I did exactly or been able to reproduce it.
Sounds plausible though.

The "Service due" message appeared every time I started the car and this morning I tried the latter procedure but then"Brake lamp fail." message appeared all of a sudden and is still appearing even after a couple of restarts although all of my break lights are working fine... some bulb has changed its resistance perhaps.... Anyway the service due is gone and I hope it's not just been overwritten by the other message.Perhaps someone could give that a try to confirm it.

Harrump! Well f-ed off.
Tried it several times, only to suddenly see my clock reset and battery go flat!
Suppose sitting their with the ignition on and not running killed it.

Had to get a jump start form someone.

Service indicator hasn't reset.

And DON'T YOU DARE LAUGH Shadey.

lol, must have done soemthing to flatten battery in 11min.. dont think i could do that if i tried... engine running without a alternator wouldnt do it that quick haha

Killed the battery once before running a tyre air compressor with the ignition on but not the engine - I assume the climate control, compressor fans etc are running and drain the battery.

This time, all was fine until I thought I'd crank the engine, then it all died.

Me laugh at a fello Stilo owner, never.

I can sit in our car with all the lights on, tyre compressor runing for 20 minutes and our Stilo still jumps into life at the first turn of the key. I guess your battery must be on its last legs, time for a new one me thinks.

I swear, mine dissapeared, but yet again brake lamp fail went on just as I was performing that operation so I am not sure if that overrides the service due message somehow. Anyway what I did was:

1) Go into the car
2) Put key in
3) Press & hold trip button
4) Turned key to MAR
5) Wait 10 seconds
6) Turned ignition off
7) Ignition on and start

What is the 'trip button'? Stilos with digital readouts don't have them. You have to access the trip reading via the menu selected by the button on the end of the right-hand stalk...

It's the button on the right lever that says 'Trip'

and when you press it it says Reset.
