Re: Checking oil in gearbox

Chris, it's on passenger side of gearbox, it's an Allen key nut, you have 2, first is low (drain) and the other is high, above the drive shaft to the right, that's the filling point

Re: Checking oil in gearbox

You'll find the filler plug easily enough but no one has yet posted a pic of the drain plug location and that is causing some problems

The Drain Plug is located at the bottom of the diff housing, below the drive shaft

Re: Checking oil in gearbox

i'll take a picture of the JTD locations once i get back to work on monday (lights and bumper removed at the moment)

Re: Checking oil in gearbox

I know but Chris017 asked the location on a jtd 115 (I done my clutch last Fri so know location!!)

Re: Checking oil in gearbox

Cheers for your help,

Think I better top mine up as I do drive foot down quite abit
It's not hard to get into gears though. But the misses finds it hard compared to her little micra haha.

How would I get at at it? Pull the passenger iner arch off and it should be there is it?
Will do it Monday. What stuff do I fill it up with?

Would it be better just to top it up or to change it completely?

Re: Checking oil in gearbox

Well I haven't looked yet but think it would be awkward to get at from the engine bay as there is not much room there. But I could be wrong and it could be really simple

Re: Checking oil in gearbox

on the JTD it's easiest to remove the wheel and arch liner (the one thats linked to the under tray) then from the inner wing you will see the plugs dead easy
