Hi guys hoping someone can help I current have a 53 plate abarth 2.4 with the orange screen between my speedo and rpm gauges just wondering is it possible to swap this dash out for the ones with the colour display and would simply be plug and play?

Also my CN+ system seems on its last legs the cd played clicks and grinds everytime it turns on and off and only 50% of the time reads disc is there any repair options? I know they are quite easy to take out the dash but even if I find a replacement aren't they locked per car with codes etc and I can't put another in mine?

You can change the cluster, but it needs to be "matched" to your specific car, either done at FIAT or by yourselft with FES (Fiat ECU Scan). You also need to find a cluster with less miles/km than you have today, so the number can be increased. It will not be possible to decrease the number, unless you send your cluster to our Dutch friend.

I recently changed my standard head unit to another 100% standard one (from a donor Stilo) and had to enter a new code. I don't know how this works with the more fancy HU.

Assuming the problem is just the CD mechanism, they were available on eBay but I haven't seen them there for over a year now. Other options are to buy a replacement CN+ but as you suggest, it will need it's master code once fitted into your car. (There are ways round the need for the code if you go down that route. (y)) Alternatively you could just swap the CD mechanism from the replacement unit into your CN+.
.

Ok so the instrument clusters are straight interchangeable except the correction for the mileage. How easy are these to remove ?

Can the CN+ be repaired if so what sort of business would I need to take it too as a audio electrian might not have the correct skills to repair the cd drive.
Also how easy are these to remove/ replace and will I need codes etc?

Very easy.

1. Pull the steering rack as far you can towards you.
2. Fiddle a bit with the ruber/cloth shield between the steering rack cover and the cluster to reveal two screws. Take them out.
3. Two screws upside down at the top of the cluster.
4. Pull out the cluster (tilt towards you).
5. Remove the two plugs from the rear side of the cluster. They have safety clip that has to be pushed in and then levered to the side.
6. Twist the cluster out towards the door.

As far as I remember.

because the code of the donor HU did not match the code stored in the body computer the BC asks for a new code which is then stored instead of the old code.
For the Connect Nav you will need a new code again or you have to reflash the unit with special code-free 9.8 firmware....
As you mentioned i can program any mileage in a Stilo cluster, assuming it is an honest mileage...
