Hi all,
I posted back in May this problem when I had juddering and slip, the juddering went away, but I still have clutch slip in my 1.6 sport. It started after a few thousand miles after diff was repaired. I refitted the box using a new clutch kit from Euro car parts.
I did try bleeding/letting out oil to change the bite, I thought it worked at first but it doesn't seem to change the pedal bite and when it's warm slipping returns.
I read somewhere that the 1.6 stilo clutch bite is marginal.
When the pressure is relieved or the slave cyl is removed the operating lever moves away more which I assume would increase the bite.
I don't really want to take the box out again, can anyone please help with a solution?
Thanks regards ken

If the car were mine, & I'd done what you have done, I'd be suspecting oil contamination. Either from installing the clutch or an oil leak from the gearbox oil seal.

That shouldn't happen and will cause the clutch to be not fully engaged. Suspect master cylinder? Sticking slave cylinder? Not allowing fluid to return or clutch pedal not allowing full return of master cylinder. When the clutch pedal is fully up there should be nothing preventing fluid return in the clutch hydraulics

The original clutch on mine had minimal grip and would slip with the least provocation, probably not helped with weak/worn springs on pressure plate but with a new clutch and pressure plate then it was as it should be with no problems with grip

i dunno if its service etiquette or old school mechanicery but supposedly you lightly sand in a rotating motion the engine side where the clutch plate goes onto to remove the glaze.
Thanks, perhaps the flywheel as well would help. Thing is though it was ok for about 8 to 10k miles before it went south. This was why I mentioned the "Euro car parts" clutch kit, could they not be good enough quality. If no one saves my poor old back and knees I will be oiking the box out for the THIRD time, THE THIRD MIND YOU at the weekend. Sorry I thought I was Micheal Caine then. This car is driving me round the bend.
Cheers ken
