Hi guys,

I'm looking for some opinions on the various laptop software and hardware available for engine diagnostics. I've spotted this http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_STN327.html and it seems to cover everything I need. I'm not a mechanic or very mechanically minded, changing the odd part and a service is about as far as I go, so I don't see the point in me paying for the full Fiatecuscan since I doubt I'll be doing much work on the likes of ABS or PAS if faults do come up.

What are peoples experiences with the various bits of kit then? Is there anything I should look out for or any kit that would be more suitable?

Cheers!
Jay

So from what I gather from the ecuscan website I can monitor map/lambda sensors as with engine scan but ill get all the extra functionality of ecu scan like airbags, abs, remote lock programming etc etc? I don't want to waste money on top of the line gear that ill never get the use out of but if I've got that right then I guess the extra £30 will be well spent!

fiatecuscan is probably the best software for Fiats you could buy and for 50 Euros it's a steal, the cables you need, elm327 and KKL (modified) can be obatined from ebay for £35 between them so in total the first time you use it you've saved the diagnostic fee of a main dealer.
