I have a fiat stilo and i have lost all my keys.

Is it true that i can give a dealer my vin number and they can cut me a new one?

Yep, speak to your local dealer. New keys don't come cheap though (Over £100 at the very least). You might want to inform your insurers as they may insist that you also change the ECU and locks - otherwise if your car gets stolen they might not pay out.

I know. About £90 ive heard dealers do it. Probs more if i sound desperate on the phone

When sb broke my car i needed to make new keys. Usually when you buy a fiat they give you a brown key and a code card. With those two you can make new keys. But if you have not the brown key that could also help you to open the doors you must go to the service. Of course you must change locks and this costs.:bang:

I lost all my keys 6 months ago, and rang up fiat dealer. you can forget £90 for the key for a stilo. A new key, cut and coded to your car from the fiat dealer is.......... ( hope your sitting down) £350!

i did find my keys in the end, so i didnt need to pay.

The Stilo does not have a brown key, only 1 or 2 blue ones.

Dealers in the UK do not give out the code card with a new car.

My old punto was a wise car. It had a brown key. In Greece also they give it with the code card to the owner so he can make new keys. There are also places that they make new keys for you if you have the code number. Of course i beleive it is better to go to a fiat service for that.:)

My sons 52 plate Stilo has the original code card, I had to pay Fiat £35 for mine and my local dealer charges £199 for replacement key (if you dont have the code for the car they will charge you for that too). Its worth ringing around different dealers as the prices tend to vary between them. My nearest is in Hayes Middx.

You can do that in the UK also, but thats with a CODE1 system, all Stilos are CODE2.
