Hey

just wondering is there any issues with just having a rear strut brace on? im going to do the front one when i get time but i've had the rear on for a few weeks but is it going to put to much flex or strain on the front og the car by any chance?

stu

Each brace you add can only strengthen the body shell, so don't worry about it. I'm planning to fit all four possible braces (upper and lower, front and rear) but they're on order from Ultra Racing in Malasya and they're taking for ever to arrive!

Did the Ultra Racing braces ever turn up and did they make a lot of difference? i had similar bars on my Integra Type R and they made a massive difference. Would they fit a JTD?

Yes, they arrived in the end. Automac have now negotiated air frieght from Malaysia, so delivery will be much quicker in future. I fitted all three Stilo bars and the rear upper bar that Ultra list for the new Bravo (which properly bolts to the bodyshell, not to the rubber damper mounts like the OMP brace).

Yes, they should fit a JTD (I think). My only reservation would be the upper and lower fronts, as I don't know enough about the layout of the engine bay and exhaust on the JTD to know if they would foul anything. There's pics of the bars fitted to a Schumi on Ultra Racing's website, so you can compare.

Massive difference? No, I can't say there was. Weightier steering and a slightly more 'planted' feel is all I can honestly report. Interestingly someone posted here recently that they reckon the Schumi (and maybe all facelift Stilos?) seem to have more body reinforcement than earlier models, so maybe that's why I didn't notice a massive difference...

P.S. Thanks to Phil (PNL) for making me aware of Ultra Racing's products in the first place. (y)

well they're not too expensive so i may take the plunge. On my Teg they made the car turn in sharper and on the limit it you could get a bit of oversteer which again helped it turn. Of course the Stilo isn't in the same league but every little bit helps. i suppose i should do the suspension first tho. So much for a cheap runabout:)

thanks Mr Peril for the feedback
