Technical how hard is the throttle body to remove on an abarth??

as the title says, any tips??
wanted to get it off to give it a proper clean and check what the pin in the inlet manifold looks like.
also, where can the selespeed lose oil?? i had to top it up about half a liter this morning!!!

I've got the eLearn proceedure here which I can post if you want it. I just need to fire up my Windoze laptop rather than the Mac I'm on now (y)

Basically though, it's as follows:

  1. remove coil cover
  2. remove battery cover
  3. remove battery negative terminal
  4. remove the ECU
  5. remove the induction rigid pipe from the throttle body
  6. disconnect the electrical connection for throttle body actuator
  7. undo the earth cable on the throttle body
  8. undo the 4 botls that hold the throttle body to the inlet manifold
All done!

As for your Selespeed leak, are you seeing any oil under the car? Half a litre is a fair bit for the Selespeed :( The best bet is to get under there and have a good nose around and try and track it down (y)

ahhh yeah that would be top, cheers for that.
i had to top it up about a year and a half ago and i had loads of work done to it at clovertech with the engine been ripped out so i dunno what the level was after all that.
last time i had to top it up it was throwing a wobbly every so often until i topped it up, however, 5 min down the road from my house this morning and it took itself out of gear and wouldn't go back in. it hasn't missed a beat for ages before then, the oil level was below the top pipe on the tank! i was amazed how it lost so much so quick, but i just topped it back up and she worked fine and hasn't lost any now. bit of a head scratcher.
