Just purchased a 9 month old Stilo 3d 1.6 Dynamic. Great car plenty of gadgets. Was wondering how much other owners use the dashboard electronics? At one stage today I was getting 85 mpg downhill - 25 mpg up the other side - how useful is this?

Welcome to the forum :)

It's no useful as such but a little "cool" feature and at a guess the data the computer actually uses helps to give you estimated final range? You would have to be an odd driver to keep your eyes fixated on such information but it probably was a very simple read out for the software writers and people like fairly realtime data even if it is useless in reality.

Instant readings are useless - better to use the average reading over a trip.

Oh, and welcome to the forum - you are not too far from me? ;)

What FIAT dealership will you be using? Motorvogue?

Purchased from Reg Vardy Leicester as they carry more choice, may well use Motorvogue. Would you believe that after half an hour of driving I smacked a pheasant which took out one of the dummy plastic grills so I need to visit them soon.

I actually bought mine from Northampton Car Supermarket [the Ulysse was NEW from Motorvogue].

I like Motorvogue, especially because their service manager passes my house every morning - when any car needs a service/warranty work, he comes down at 7.30am, drops off a courtesy car, takes mine away, and I go off to work on time :)

Same here - have always tripped the counter every time I fill up; get really annoyed with myself once I leave garage and forget, lol.

On Stilo, I did have Trip A as a long term test, with Trip B every fillup, but I reset them all by mistake. Oh well....

Instant economy can be helpful. Try this one day, stick the screen on Instant, then drive as normal, see how ineconomic you drive, then drive to get the economy up a bit. You'll totally change your driving style, but not necessarily slow down much!
If I was worried about fuel consumption I wouldn't have bought an Abarth !

24mpg and loving it :D

Apologies for being a bit anal about fuel economy; Whilst on the subject though found unlead at 76.9 at Kettering Tesco Saturday - has to be the lowest around here for about a year;
Any improvements on this price?

:hm:

Never had a problem myself with supermarket fuel, isn't it all the same stuff.
Er, depends what you read! There are plenty of threads on this forum arguing about it, saying it all comes from same refinery, etc.

BUT personally, I don't think there is enough detergent in it.
