As the title really, have the engine fault light come on today, used the reader i have, and its come up with error code P0046.

Googling came up with this, P0046 Turbo/Super Charger Boost Control Solenoid Circuit Range/Performance

Obviously this means nothing to me, so wonder if you guys had any idea before i start ringing round fiat and garages. Many Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply, how would i check this? also i seem to be gettin a lag at odd times, mainly when pulling off, or when in 5th when slow down and speed back up.

To check it, you could remove the electrical connector and look inside it to see if there's water there. The problem usualy resolves itself though once the connector has dried out.

There was a Fiat modification for it which moved the valve higher up onto the side of the battery tray. It wasn't a recall though.

And it's chargeable..! Easy to DIY with basic hand tools.

Remove the undertray and open the bonnet for access. Remove the boost valve and associated plastic tubing carefully, clean & dry it all. Then reassemble (you might need one or two small jubilee clips and a few inches of firm rubber/silicone tubing for the joints, I can't remember exactly) but with the valve relocated somewhere higher and warmer.

I kept the standard tubing and it was long enough to cable-tie the valve to the side of the battery box. Had been suffering frequent 46 & 235 errors, only had one since doing this job a year ago.

Rite ive been reli busy with uni, with assignment hand ins etc... Now its time to show my car some love lol! Will i need to get this on a ramp to remove the boost value etc... or can i do it via jacking it up, all will in be a pain? Thanks.

Well i gave in and took it into a local performance centre, paid £53 for them to do a hour long diagnostic. I was told the turbo pipe had a tear in it, and he reckoned that be best to change both as the other one was soft(something like that).

Guna be £125 for the parts and fitting, so got them on order and will be having it done thurs or friday. He said hopefully that will sort the problem out, so we will see how it goes.

Sounds like a split in the intercooler ducting (which is common) but you might want to check as I've not heard of anyone else changing both input & output pipework

Well i took it in and they changed the hose for me, the bloke gave me my keys and said thats a nicer drive. And i thought ill soon see... lol! Got in it, pulled off and what an improvement! i didnt even realise that id lost acceleration. But seems so much improvement, and its so much quieter lol! Fell my in love with it now lol!
