Hello Hello Hello.

I have recently advertised that I am selling 99% of a panaramic sunroof.

This is an ideal opportunty to fix any broken sunroofs.

The sunroof I am selling has everything but one of the runners is missing the tip which controlls the first sheet of glass.

But all the glass parts are in perfect condition and are very easy to screw on if you need yours replacing.

The frame is also very useful for those of you that find yours isnt quite working fully.

Plus anyone who is having problems with thier sunroof let me know, as having stripped and fitted new componants and complete new sunroofs I know quite alot about them. Including how to take out your sunroof blind the easy way so that you can give it a good clean if it needs it.

Cheers all. Have a look at my add. See ifyoucan finally get your sunroof working ready for summer. Without having to buy a whole new sunroof from Fiat. How stupid is it thatthey charge you for the whole new one when it just needs a fix.

Yes both the front mounted glass motor is included and the rear mounted curtain motor is included. Yes there are other parts of the car available to just let me know what youare after.

Thank you Argo for the allowance of this message here, Did put it into clasifieds as well but didnt think it would be against rules to put it here.

Hi.

What is the price for the skyroof? Alt. do you sell the 2 motors alone?

Best regards
Lasse

May I suggest that you write up a guide, as I for one would be very interested in knowing how to remove the blind for cleaning.(y)

HELP Please...

I've gone through the skyroof reset procedure and i'm still having a problem with the actual glass work. I think the rear panel guide rails are really stiff. I can move all the panes back and forth using the manual system, (albeit with a lot of effort)

The switch operates the 1st panel, but i think because the rest of the panels are so stiff/seized up, the motor cuts out and stops. i think the only way to resolve it, is to drop the headliner and fully disassemble the glass panes, and regrease etc.

Now does anyone have a guide on how to do this?

Got a bit further with this now.

Managed to get the whole thing back and forth, but i think its the rear panel that is causing the problem... I think i just need to get this open again be very very liberal with the grease.

Seperate question, but sort of related - How easy is it to take the headliner down and clean it. I got a bit frustrated with one area which now has some grubby hand prints on it... Would a steam clean, be a problem, just because of the shape and foam construction?

Cheers

I've never removed the heaadlining but I suspect you would need to remove all the plastic trim parts, grab handles, interior lights. roof opening trim etc.

I tried steam cleaning the headlining on a previous car and most of the fabric cover seperated from the rigid backing, so probably not a good idea.

Dave.

Thanks for the advice on the steam clean. I've had most of the stuff off the head liner to sort out the leaking skyroof (easiest way i found was to pull the hose off the drainage channel and blow through) Just needed to be a bit gentle when pulling away at the liner to access the hose.

Will keep plugging away at this though. I'm looking forward to driving with it open again..

Update:

Skyroof working again now. Just needed some WD40 to get it free, then a really good going over with the lube.
Headliner cleaning - vanish carpet spray and a good going over with the scrubbing brush.

Next question - Is there a spray lubricant anyone can recommend that i can use for the skyroof?? i just think that it may be easier to use this in future (and regularly at that!!)

Thanks.

D.

Well done on fixing it (most people seem to give up) (y)

Any lubricant is better than nothing but I'd use a silicone based spray, carefully applied, for the runners.

You also need some form of grease for exposed parts of the panels but I've not experimented with that yet.
