Hi All, I have had a stilo Dynamic JTD 1.9 2004 for about 1 year now...

In this year about 5 times or so I have found my car with all 4 windows totally down, and the doors still locked.

Problem is that if I take it to a dealership they will probably not find the fault as it is an intermittent thing :(

Any ideas anyone?

Do you keep your keys in your pocket or let kids play with them? Sitting or bending with the keyfob in your pocket can do this. Likewise kids playing with the fob too... as long as the fob is within range of the car.

Stilo has an open and close function on the remote lock / unlock buttons.... Hold the unlock button down and the windows open, vice - versa with the lock button.

Yea what ffoxy said. I had the same thought a year or so ago. Then held down my unlock button by accident once and saw the windows go down. Problem solved. Now i use it in the summer while walking to my car as im lazy to use the normal button :)

Thanks for the info guys.... not aware if that is the case, because I don't have kids. Of course there is a remote chance I have been keeping the button pressed when playing the guitar in my living room - 3m from the front drive.

I will be more careful from now on and see if it still happens. Thanks for teaching me about the neat trick!

Thats OK feel free to use the Thanks button (the hand) down on the lower right hand side of the page :D

99% sure that will be whats happening, should save you a wedge of money you might have had to give a dealer chasing that one! (y)

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

see how frigging cool the stilo is? caught you out there big time!

:) it is a cool feature but one that can cause..... issues lol!

Not a feature Fiat gave to my GPS tho even tho Mrs Ffoxy's 1.2 Stilo has it....

My 1.6 did this once... came out one morning and saw both front windows down so expected to find front seats full of broken glass as I used to live in an 'interesting' part of Brum. Windows were intact but down in doors. Due to the nature of the area I always checked all the doors and windows when I parked up for the night and the remote did not have the range from the house... local fiat dealer checked the car out but 'no fault found' was there verdict. Thankfully it happened again on the 1.6 or JTD :)

I think that there may actually be a problem with the Stilo's electronics that can cause this to happen.

I have had it once and i could not have done it with the key as i had them loosely in my hand as i walked away from the car to the shop.

But before it happened i got blinded by the low sun and foggy windows so decided to turn left rather than go straight on because i had no way of telling what was in front of me. Unfortunately what was to the left of me wasnt much better as i drove straight over a pavement :bang: Obviously even at low speeds this shook the car up pretty badly and i was very lucky to not catch anything on the underpan/sideskirts

Everyone makes a mental note to completely ignore volxstu's Stilo if he ever puts in classifieds

Ive not had a problem since i think that the initial shake up just scared her a little and she went a little mental at me for doing silly things to her.
Underpan didnt get touched im just very lucky to get away with it i think.
