Hey all ...

been looking at remap places such as retdot and celtic... but they are like miles away from me ... Im looking at getting my car remapped after christmas as i will be coming into some money (compo from car crash)

anyhoo ... Them 2 shops mentioned are too far from me, so i was wondering if anyone knew of a closer one too me, i am based near Manchester and wouldnt mind travelling a little bit, but dont really wanna be driving for 5 hours to get to the ones mentioned.

OR if anyone has another suggestion, please do tell ...

Thanks guys

Stu.

I dont think its a remap you need if its going to take you five hours to drive to red dot its a major engine rebuild or you drive so slow what do you need a remap for lol

they "claim" (n)If your getting a map id want it RR to have proven results and bhp figures aren't everything look at the torque figures with each map, were it kicks in the rev range - be it how use able the power is.. and reliability is something to consider? but i supposed that depends on how long you intend on keeping the car though..

i would suggest having a look through threads about maps and potential problems that can arise after a map

Angel Tuning is another favorite who will come out to you but basically you tend to pay for the service.

I'd strongly recommend a tried and tested generic map myself as far too many issues show up for the JTD on the other kind (just read the Forum)

Personally I'd just choose the best value offered that comes with a money back guarantee and go for it. If you get issues with the engine light then go straight back for a refund

With a JTD you'll sure as hell know the difference quick enough

angel tuning are good and can come to you to do the remap I think, they don't quote as high bhp figures as most other places but loads of customers seem very happy with them.

I had mine done at the chipped uk place that PNL said ans I got a RR printout of 159.1bhp and 250 lb/ft of torque, ran the car for another 5000 miles or so problem free then sold it because I got bored :) but it made a hell of alot of difference to the power.
