Hi all,

Not had my Stilo JTD 53-plate (5-door) for too long and suddenly yesterday the back passenger and driver side doors don't open from inside and outside !!

The front doors are fine and the 'door lever' (the things that go up and down when locked) move up and down fine on all doores when unlocking/locking.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Many Thanks
Adam

One of my back doors won't open from the inside either (and before anyone says, yes i've turned the child locks off :bang:)

Near the latch on the back doors there is a slot that you turn with your door key (y)

I've just read about deadlocks and tried sitting in the car and locking/unlocking it a few times but no luck. If I hold the open button on the remote key fob for a few seconds the doors unlock and the front windows also open .. but still the back doors don't open from inside or outside. When I hold the lock button on the remote for a few seconds the doors lock and the front windows also close.

Sorry for rambling on but bottom line is that my back 2 doors still don't open from inside or outside .. will the RAC do anything ?? !!

Stocky one that! Sounds strange, did you say the pins still move on the back doors?

I had this problem when I had my 52 plate stilo a few months back. The garage told me the inside had ceased and just needed a bit of stripping and greasing..works great now!

To operate the deadlocks, you need to press the lock or unlock button on the remote control twice.

I doubt the RAC will attend, the car hasn't broken down and you can still drive it safely. That was the criteria at the AA when I worked there.

Dave.

I'd try a full reset (disconnect battery for at least 30 minutes) if I was you.

You could also try checking the 'My Car' menu as that has a few options you could play with.

It might be stuck deadbolts but strange it's happened on both rear doors at the same time.

Hi All.
This is a nice little earner for the garages.
Go to the front passenger side door insert the key in the lock and its either left, left, right or right, right, left try both can’t remember which way.
This will reset the deadlocks.
Good luck.

Hi Cris1117. Will this work for a 53 plate 3 door JTD Dynamic?

Went in for cam belt and water pump change and within hours the radio refused to turn off with ignition, the n/s door and boot stopped opening with the top button on remote but the drivers door works fine, the boot opens with bottom button on remote and if n/s door is opened from inside the car will lock as usual.

when i picked the car up from the garage the time and date needed to be re set, but pre-sets on the radio were fine, is this an indication that the battery has been wrongly disconnected and re connected?.

I have only had the car 3 weeks and everything worked fine before.

I know what the answer will be if i ask the garage what it could be.

Any ideas pls?

Simply means the battery was disconnected but that shouldn't have caused the other issues you've mentioned.

They may have done something else though :chin:

....say shorted something or connected a fast charger etc
