just got my first fiat and decided may aswell get something nippy so got a 2002 abarth 3 door with claws.

Few minor things that iv sorted, ie sticking skyroof,

If also just had tints put on and fully abarth badged it ;)

They turn a few heads too don't they.

Well the last thing for me to sort is the gps.

Screen showing no satalites,
hidden menu shows gps green, connections are fine at back.

So question is can it now only be the gps antenna? Or is there something else it could be?

Iv got one more mod to do with the lights (audi style led's) then I'll post pics

Talking of lights just done my headlamp bulbs, and please everybody (except diesels) please just go the wheel arch way, I just done full lock, wheels on, not jacked up, took less than 5 mins!

With regard to the CN+, it could be a faulty GPS receiver inside the unit. They do fail quite often or it could be the aerial. The only way to test it is to replace the part and try it.

You may just have to wait. Sometimes it can take 15 minutes to find satellites after the unit has been powered off.

Also, you are not testing it parked next to a tall building, under a tree, in a garage or anywhere else that may block the satellite signal are you?

I drive about most nights 6-12 non stop and had car a week, never had a sat signal once so its not me not giving it time to get its initial fix.

So its common/ likely the nav+ gps has failed internally in the nav+ itself and still reporting ok on the hidden menu? Rather than Defo the antenna base?

Just can't be arsed spending money on gps receiver for it not to fix issue, what's up with yours? I see your looking for parts

Mine has corrupted firmware and doesnt boot up. I actually have a working one now, but am always looking for parts as I have 2 broken ones and would like to get one in a going state to sell. I have a failed GPS receiver, so I will put it in a unit and tell you if the service menu reports it as being OK. (probably cant do it today, but soon)

@ john

Would you be interested in selling me one of your broken ones or preferably just the buttons from one?

The previous owner of my Stilo had long nails and most of the rubberised surfaces of the buttons have been scratched off.

So far I've managed to get replacement mode/fog lamp switch panel, drivers seat switch unit and an 11 button steering wheel just for the buttons. Now I just need the CN+ buttons and a driver side door switch panel.

Dave.

I have a spare abarth coloured front fascia with buttons if you are interested. The buttons are different between the abarth and black fronts and most are not swappable.

Sorry, but I only have one black front and I want to keep it for my Stilo. Anyway the buttons in it are not in very good condition.

well iv ordered a new gt5 gps unit, (£13 all in) hopefully it comes today & I'll try it out, fingers crossed

just a quick update. The gps unit came today, plugged it in hid cables, placed it by the dusk sensor and it all works!

So that was cheaper than fiats antenna base by over £100+

Now I'm running 2002 map disk.

Where can I get newer ones other than the map company at £100?

Someone should add this info to a sticky - wonder how many have ditched their CN+ due to the cost of paying a dealer to fix the gps?
