I have a Stilo 1.6 dynamic. I have all the usual probs. Creaking suspension in the back, wind noise from driver's window, pulling to one side, that stalling feeling when pulling away etc etc. I have been fighting a battle with the dealer for 6 months now. I seem to be a regular there. After replacing EVERY seal around the drivers door and window (breaking the plastic doorsill in the process) they have finally fixed the wind noise ! A result !! (it was none of the seals, but the matt black exterior cover between the driver's window and the rear passenger door)

Now I can move onto getting the other jobs fixed in the sound and comforting knowledge that I actually got a Fiat dealer to complete a job !!

Thats handy to know, that should please stiloboy as that may just solve his wind noise problem

Is this wind noise problem just on the 5 door stilo's?? As ive never noticed any wind noise on my 3 door (Unless the windows down!! :D )

Black Stilo 3Dr 1.2 Active .Bog standard except for CD player and Fiat Alloys

Yes its a 5 door. Sorry Stilo Boy, might not fix yours as the problem area doesn't exist on the 3 door.

JW what was wrong with the part, did they just fit a new one?

March '04, 5 dr 1.4 Stilo Active & Sept '00, 5 dr 1.2 HLX Punto.

No they didn't replace the part. They replaced just about everything else, but not the part. After replacing EVERY seal around the door and window, they applied masking tape around the driver's window and took it for a drive. The noise was still there. The took the exterior black panel (between the drivers window and the rear window) off and applied silicone sealer inside. They then re fitted the panel and the noise had gone.

Apparently the wind enters BEHIND this panel and enters the car sort of in reverse (if that makes sense?).

Hope this helps

I have just sent my Stilo (52 plate 1.2 16V) (although is reads 6v at the moment as some little tw@t nicked the 1) into the dealers for the rear suspension fixed. WIll let you know what happens

After being in the garage all day the managed to grease my bushes!!

The creaking suspension has abated somewhat though.

I thought it was only cars from the 1950's that needed bits of the suspension re-greased.

I just spent a messy weekend up to my elbows in my mini's grease nipples!
