Interested if anybody can recommend Nationwide Autocentre for servicing. I am due to have a 4 year service (inc. aircon) on my dynamic 1.6.

On their website they have a big old list of things they check/replace for a full service and major service. I wonder if this is a cheaper option than forking out for the 4 year service at Fiat.

The guy I phoned at Autocentre said it would charge £140 for a full service, but this didn't include aircon - he said he would check the aircon, but if I wanted it regassing etc that would cost another £75.

Seems like both Fiat and Nationwide do lots of checks, but little is actually replaced - but I don't really know - so looking for suggestions?

Here is a link for the service sheet for the stilo so you can see what work should be done:

Depeding on your mileage you can see what should be checked and what needs to be done! That sounds like an alright price, but it depends what it includes! I paid for my last service £285 and this was without aircon! Im having that done this year! The £75 for the aircon is that a service of the aircon system and a re-gas? I not sure on fiats price for these though - no doubt it will be three figures  Also on your fourth year depending on your mileage you might want to consider a cambelt change,etc..

Thanks! The checklist is useful - I will compare against the Autocentre one. The £75 was for a check of the aircon and regassing. I don't know if Fiat would do this.

I wouldn't be asking this question at all if Fiat were cheaper - but they are talking about £240, and that's a lot of money when most of it is just labour as opposed to replacement of parts (that they inevitably suggest once they've done the service!)

Never heard a GOOD word said about Nationwide Autocentres, and previous experiences of mine were appauling (well, the Torquay one, bloke came in with an R reg Omega, mechanic said it needed a new exhaust as it was blowing, customer said it was done last week; mechanic returned and said "Oh Yeah, was just one of the joints needed tightening, we've done it for you" )

Besides the above I've only heard good things about Nationwide. The 4th year service is one of the cheapest on the Stilo so Fiat shouldn't be that expensive, sure my local dealer does 1.2 on there board for £140.

48K Service now 1500 miles away. Fiat locally have quoted £269 for the service including pollen filter change and checking the aircon over. Aircon has gone limp again hence think I will need a re-gas. Am thinking of using independent fiat specialist instead, as you say jpmman not a lot for the money - few parts replaced, mainly labour for 'inspections'
