Magic! Thought I was up the creek when it started to go off, just after I'd bought it too. 1o mins and it was all sorted. Cheers!

Re: Airbag Failure Warnings

Need to do this! thanks for the advise.

Re: Airbag Failure Warnings

This is one heck of a guide.

Cost: £3.98
Time spent: 15 mins (I had to do both connectors)
Saving: £80+ and fuel to get to Fiat!

Nice one son

Re: Airbag Failure Warnings

Can't thank you enough for this information.

We have had no end of trouble with this fault since we got the car. The garage tried to cure it several times while it was under warrenty, but their cure didn't last long. Better give them your instructions!

Thanks again its great getting in the car and not hearing the bleep from the dashboard and seeing the warning light any more.

Hi Alex
I know you're light years away from any dealers and you have to do some white water rafting to get to one :) but if a tech has to work on the airbag circuit later on sometime and they see that it's been noticably altered/ tampered with then understandably they might not touch it.

You know the phrase
"Oh yes, and who's been playing about here then?"

Oops! How did that happen?

Re: Airbag Failure Warnings

hi, just recently joined this forum whilst looking for a solution to this problem. i was actually going to take it straight to the garage as i only bought my stilo 3 weeks ago and the damn beeping has been driving me crazy since 2 days after i purchased it.
i saw this post and though y not, imight aswell give it a go (and by give it a go i mean pester my dad until he did it for me) and lowe and behold, it worked!
i seriously did not expect it to fix the problem but it worked first time. hope i never have to do it again, but if i do ive got this brilliant solution to once again take to my dad

thanx (y)

Re: Airbag Failure Warnings

Hi, quick question, how do i access the under seat compartment, i mean where the ABS cables are, do i need to remove the seats, if so how.

thank you

Mr Deckchair ...

Thanks for the solution - seems to have worked a treat - that fuppin' beeping was driving me nuts !

Worked for mine too for about a year. Tried to do it again but to no avail.

Turns out the OCS has died good n proper :bang:

At least there's an excellent "Deckchair ltd" guide for that too (y)

I'm in the same situation....Ive actually done away with the under chair plug and soldered the wires together in an attempt to get rid of the light all to no avail! There is a nasty little bump in the passenger seat cushion that feels ominously wirey so I guess I need the seat sensor replacing(n)

There was a bump on my passenger seat too, so I took the seat out and examined the OCS. It was creased all over the place. So I taped it to some stiff card and replaced it, just to see if that was the problem. Sure enough the warning light stayed off. It lasted for a few weeks, which wasn't bad as I only did it as a test and never expected it to last long.

It appears that the seat foam sort of weakens over time, not offering the same support, and the OCS flexes too far and becomes creased.
Just as well Fiat supply new seat foam with OCS.
