I think we should have a maximum sig size, say a maximum height and width, like they do on some forums.

I dont mean to be a kill joy or anything, but peoples sigs are getting sooooo massive that its getting hard to read some threads and soon we are going to be getting one reply per page!

What do you reckon Ben?

I suppose I need to change from full-screen format to see what the problem is - even though this works laptop is sh*te, I don't have a problem with it; and the home machine is on a 20.1"TFT on 1600*1200 res, so width doesn't tend to be an issue either.

I think we just need to use common sense, and not have strict rules. If something is really OTT, then maybe a quick word behind the scenes :)

I strongly believe that long posts are significantly more valuable contributions than people posting "psml" or other bul-**** posts. If you're not interested you don't have to read them.

As for sigs my internet is slow and because it makes such a big difference in loading time I almost always have them switched off. Remember we don't all have hyper-fast internet. I don't mind them though, for me personally it's the tall ones I find annoying because you have further to scroll past them (not a personal dig Helz). I do hate all these quotes and as some others have said I keep trying to read them as part of the posts. Why not just type them plain on the screen then they'll take up much room and be clearer.

My picture which you lot have to look at is pretty big so I'll make it smaller in a min.

Ideally, sig sizes should be 469 x 60 pixels which is very small (check ad at top of page)

Also using this size would prevent them from being displayed to those using an ad blocker.

We seem to have 2 seperate issues here. Those saying that the dimensions are too big and stuffs up their screen, others saying that the file sizes are too big and slow up their connection. I'm probably an offender on both accounts :D

your siggy dont work ;) lol

the ones that annoy me are the ones which mess up the table widith and therefore the continuity of the forum layout (the tables etc)

but also almost all of the regular posters now have quotes at the end of the name, one person having it isnt too much trouble, but if every single person posting on a thread has one then it almost doubles the length of the thread, and as others have mentioned across different threads, it does get confusing whats part of the thread and what isnt

Cheers,
Alex
