Build Threads

Would it be possible to introduce another permanent thread to each model's section, or to split the MM threads into two: "Builds/ Projects" and "Finished Cars"

That way, we can either keep up with the technical stuff (if that's what we want) and the larger scale mods they're having over time or we can just read about the finished article and look at the nice pictures of them all.

Thoughts?

I think it would be good to have it as a seperate section, but listed down the right hand side of the car's section (like the eBay and classifieds currently are) as I know there is some dead space down the side there.

Perhaps have it so it shows a pic of the car like MM bit also

Totally agree, I'd find it good, but then it might get over run by punto/cento owners who just do tat to a half decent car.

For clarity, a build/ project thread would include exactly that - pics and info of the build. Any project vehicle would surely by definition be off the road as 'project' suggests some major re-working.

If you've upgraded to alloys / changed the interior / lowered your car, etc then that could be a post that in your MM thread

I would imagine that finished cars are already in the MM section. There are some builds currently in progress - their threads are fairly obvious, but some are in the main section and some are in MM. You could include past build threads if they're easy to locate in the back pages of this forum?

Dave, I hadn't seen this... and by the looks of it, neither have many others! Maybe this is the time to shout about it and explain how it works (is it easier than the garage to update?) It would seem to fulfill the wants &needs of a build thread...

No, i meant those who do stupid mods like wheels too big, exhaust big enought for a cat to get it ....

Theres plenty of project cars tht are not tat!

I take it all pics would have to uploaded to the members FF gallery? be good to have galleries from each memeber of all their builds.
