instead of having the chat section which you have to open another window for to access the whole forum as well, why not have a shoutbox at the top of the main page, or in the leisure lounge section, as well as all the usual topics and threads

You need to type fasteri hate shoutbox's
would possibly get rid of a lot of dross in LL as well
or will be loads more threads from people moaning about what others have shouted :chin:
This reminds me of what we were talking about with the extra column down the right/left - could be customisable then and would allow shoutbox integration ... :chin:

how about making it more dynamic like facebook has recently?
they have a bar at the bottom for chat, notifications etc that scrolls with the page
