can anyone help and fast please!! I had my keys stolen, and the sods know where I live, as they have tried to get in the house!!

I have a 1998 Punto sporting, I have the red key and one blue key but they stole the remote locking key, what can I do for the cheapest? I have heard so many bad stories and trying to work out how much it will be, or weather I should scrap the car, as it can't be worth more than £600? So I need all three locks changing at a min, not sure about the ignition??

get one blue key & programme them all thus deleting the key they have although they can still get in the car they cant drive it away....you have informed the police/insurance company to change house locks?

Thanks you!! I have reported it yes and got the house ones changed, thank you! I really don't want anyone to get into the car, don't suppose you know how much it would be to replace the locks do you?

best bet, just change the full lock set, but just swap over the immobiliser chip.

wont cost alot to do cos you wont be touching the code system.

did the remote key work? if so, if you can live without it, just disconnect it.

not sure about price of a lockset but you could get set from scrapyard & only fit door locks & use key that comes with them. Dont change ignition barrel just use old one & key(s) you have.

I can live without the remote locking, as long as the car is secure..... So I can get the locks changed and reconf. the immobi? best guess of cost assuming new key set??

just an idea..

take the battery out of the car (make sure that you have the radio code) (that way the remote wont unlock the car)

take the Ht leads off the coil pack and spark plugs (hell remove the spark plugs if you have a socket to fit

(know on fords you remove one little plug from the gear box and it wont go anywhere :devil: )

you got any axle stands? take a couple of wheels off

Tesco had wheel clamps in the other month for £30


and smear dog poo under the door handles :idea:

I bought a full lock kit for only £50 direct from Fiat. That is boot, both doors and ignition barrel. Doors are pretty easy, just got to sacrifice some skin on the back of your hand. Boot looks pretty easy, just the ignition barrel that may be tricky.

Now you say you have the original red key. Take that to Timpsons (about £10 a key) and get a copy cut with the cuttings of your new key (that came with the lock set) but the programming of your original red key. That way, it will physically work in your new barrel, yet electronically work with your original immobiliser. Admittedly, it does mean that these thieving gits still have a key that will disable your immobiliser, but the key will not work in the doors or ignition.

Oh yes, and disconnect the remote locking.

what you should do is get about four big spiders trancherlerswith a massive bocansticter snake when they nick the car it would be a second thought tho they probley just run away once they see the snake and spiders and geta a secret camra place them in there at for point angels and then
