Hi i now have the gearbox out on this 1.9 jtd scudo van now thank god!
But i now do not know how you go about getting the thrust bearing attached to the clutch plate while still getting the clutch fork onto the thrust bearing while having the box in.
Has anyone on here done one of these clutchs which work back to front compare to any normal clutch this pulls instead of pushing the clutch plate.
Its hard for me to explain this but what i need to no does the clutch fork need to removed to get the thrust bearing onto the clutch plate.
This van has my head up my backside.:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

Im still desperate on this clutch guys someone must have done on of these clutchs

If you read my reply in ullyses section it explains how to do this. If you are not changing the clutch you're gonna have to find a way of unclipping the bearing first.

THE BEARING IS OFF ITS READY TO GO BACK TOGETHER THIS IS WHAT IM STUCK ON.

Yes we are changing the whole clutch but after attaching the new thrust bearing to the cluth plate how you meant to get the fork around the thrust bearing when the box is in.
Someone in fiat or a garage on this forum must have had this same clutch before to do there are two types of cluths for these vans or peugeot 406 cars either a normal cluth which pushs in the clutch plate or this one which pulls out by grabing the two lugs on the thrust bearing.

On its way back together now cheers guys!

Cheers for the help guys and we sort of new from day one that the bearing went on the fork first then you press the fork over to attach the bearing to the clutch plate and it clips in..
Anyway after about 10 goes pulling out our hair and the bearing not staying on we thought you must have to do it another bloody way here.
Thats why we were needing such urgent help as we were doing it for one of our good customers.
It turns out after days of messing around and having to pop into the fiat garage that the thrust bearing clip and the centre hole in the new clutch were faulty.
So we took the old clip off the old bearing and took the centre hole out of the old clutch and stuck it on the new one and it attached itself straight away.
I thought i would write this incase anyone ever gets the same troubles and may post it in the help section.
WHAT A WEEK LOL :bang::bang::bang:

pleeeesssse help guys, im trying to fit a second hand engine in my scudo 1-9 td, trying to get the gearbox off, have undone all the bolts holding it on and now there is a gap of about 1 inch but cant get it any further, please help

Have you got ALL the connections off? The top engine mount? The nearside drive shaft? The gearbox comes off with the bellhousing - getting the box off on its own would be a nightmare!

You also have to release the lower bolt holding the front suspension strut to allow the nearside wheel/hub assembly to 'hang free'.

If all connections ARE removed (as mentioned) then get two jacks, one under the engine block and one under the gearbox. Raise/lower either one until you can fee movement of the gearbox/bellhousing and 'slide away......'
