I want to carry my motorcycle in the rear of my Scudo. I cant use a trailer as I will be towing a caravan. The idea I have is to obtain a frame which will hold the motorcycle in position. This frame will be held in place with the hold down eyes. To get the motorcycle in and out I will probably use ramp and electric winch attached to the frame. I have the design for this in my head but am not very goog at getting it down on paper. Is there an exisiting off the shelf frame or will I have to have this fabricated?

Why not just use two opposing force ratchet straps?

It's all I've ever done when I put any of my bikes in a van.

One round the top of each fork leg above the bottom yoke, works a treat.

As for getting the bike in, walk it in with the engine running and in first gear, no need to push them.

Happy to offer more advice..

I carry dirt bike/occasional roadbike in back of my 120 LWB Scudo
I have always run it up plank as above in first gear.
Leave it in first and ratchet down from both sides of handlebars seperatelt and one long strap over back seat
Do not leave bike stand down This way the bike's suspension gives extra tension and shock absorbtion while on the move
As for a frame, never needed one.

Hey hows it going, you're not the same name over there tho are you?

And I agree with the previous post :D

sorry I meant the post on here regarding the extra rear seats.
Is there a kiting forum? Looking for a clean spot to practice my new nerdy fun hobby

I use my Scudo to carry my race Triton in and tow a caravan to meetings. To get it in I made a 'U' profile ramp from aluminium floor treading ( thanks boss ! ) and on the underside I fitted a piece of tube so it goes over the towball and will not go anywhere. This then allows me to load the van on my own. The bike then sits down the left side with the front wheel sticking inbetween the van and the metal rack thingy behind the seats. Leave it in first gear and I only need one tie down to hold it to the wood strips on the side of the van. Best van I have had in over 30 years of racing for bike transport. Last season I used it to transport 2 bikes to meetings and on one occasion I had 3 in the back - my Triton, a Ducati 250 race bike and a BSA Bantam race bike but that was realy tight.
