2,0 Engine same in 125TC as 130 TC

My cambelt has come to an end on my Cabrio, luckily there wasn't to much damage done to the car.
However, need to replace this now and the basic Q is now.

Is is the same engine in the 125 as in the 130TC?
Both are the TC engine with twin carbs.
Been searching for the engine number on the car aswell.
Is it the 9 digit number that can be found between the engine and the gearbox?
This is to verify what year the engine was buildt.

Re: 2,0 Engine same in 125TC as 130 TC

125TCs had engine type 138 AR1.000 where as the 130TC had engine type 138 AR2.000. I think this number is at the gearbox end of the motor (I can't check sorry, my car is in storage). Both were 2 litre twin cams but the 125TC did not have twin carbs as standard (they had a single twin choke weber). Sorry I don't know if they use the same cam belt as my Haynes manual doesn't cover the 125TC. Hope this helps.

I thought the 125TC and the 130TC were identical, except for the intake manifold and the fact that the 130TC has 2 carbs instead of one...

I think the cams might be different.

Much of this can be sorted by reference to the original parts microfiche.

If somone wants to specifically state the problem/question, providing any other info that they think is relevant then I will try to provide some info.

I DON'T want to get drawn into "this was that", "cam shafts were ...." and "any other variations on the same theme.

It is a fact that Fiat did (and still do) use cross platform parts. When it comes to the 105TC and 125TC and 130TC then there are many common parts but also very many different but similar parts used across all the models. This being the facts then anything other that a specific question can result in a long goose chase of part numbers etc. that only result in more numbers and questions than were originally posed.
