Something's happening to my Punto and now it won't "pull" as it used to do!?
When I put it in 1st gear and hit the peddal ,it accelerates kinda slowly and than sudden burst of power at 4000 RPM ? It works great when I keep it in high revs, but I'm not used to drive like Schumacher all the time! Bought the injector cleaner fluid , but didn't see much of improvement. Works nice at idle so I thought Lambda sensor must be OK. Any idea?

Sorry Dave - didn't see your reply till now.
I've changed spark plugs and cables, air and gasoline filters, poured this
WYNN (Belgian) inj. cleaner fluid for which they say I should do every 5000 km , but still the same.:(
Basicly it works nice - It starts at first try and works nice at idle ( like it used to do before ) . Putno was made in '98. and has a bit over 120.000 km. Average consumption of approx. 6 l/100km is OK, but only thing that bugs me is that he's got a bit lazy!
Now it bothers me when I want to overtake someone, because I can't rely on the car as I used to do.
When the car accelerates it sort of drags on the road until it hits approx. 4000 RPM when it pulls like mad and quickly goes to red. Also in neutral when I hit the peddal to the floor it sort of chokes at first and then spins propperly.
I was thinking to have inj. nozzles cleaned and checked. Maybe Lambda sensor and CPU ( timing ) at the end. ( Is there anything left? )

Sounds to me like it's overfuelling. try disconnecting the battery for an hour, which will reset the ECU. I had a similar problem with my 55SX and this sorted it out.

Hope this helps :)

Did this get resolved? I am trying to figure out a similar problem with my car, but not alot of posts get followed up.
