Hi you all. Greets from snowy finland!

My wife's car have following problem: While accelerating any gear punto starts to sputter from ca. 3500rpm up. When I change gear example from 3 to 4 it stops from sputtering and runs fine until engine hits to "magical" rounds and sputters again. Engine runs fine when idle and lower rpm's than 3500 (estimated).

What I've done so far. I changed oil and filter when I bought this car (readout was about 84000 km, now 87000 km). Last week I changed ignition coils, spark plugs, air filter and gas filter. Didn't help much so it sounds like lambda problem, right? BUT injection light appears only when I start the engine and doesn't appear when driving car. Could this still be lambda problem. I've already bought new lambda but I don't want to waste another 65 euros for nothing (coils costs that :-/). Hope you can give me some help.

Cheers!

I had a cinquecento with a broken lambda sensor the ceramic tip was broken off it ran fine and the warning light didn't come on we only found the fault after an emissions test....so it might be faulty but still within 'normal' range as far as engine managment sytem is concerned therfor not indicating fault have you checked the emissions?

I'm about to take the car to the tester this thursday to find out what's broken. Hope it's lambda or catalysator. Easy to replace and doesn't cost too much :)

IT IS DEFFINATLEY THE LAMDA SENSOR !!!!!

MINE DID SAME THING. LED CAME ON WHEN STARTING CAR & WENT OFF AGAIN STRAIGHT AWAY. SENSOR IS STILL NO GOOD. I Had All The Usual Problems Of Juddering Starts, Dodgy Tick Over, Holding Back & The Sudden Surge Of Turbo Power.

Traced It Back To The Lambda Sensor, Situated On The Exhaust Manifold, Between The Engine & The Radiator. Mine Is A Gold Coloured Thing, Looks A Bit Like A Spark Plug.

Anyway, To Magically Cure All Your Problems, Simply Locate The Dreaded Thing, Then Trace The Wire Back To The Plug In Socket, & Unplug The Thing !!

You Will Find That Your Car Runs Absolutley Beutifully Without It!

Ive Been So Happy Since, I Thought I Would Share It With The World.
