Just a post for the more technical members.
So I have a Mk1 Punto sporting and to be honest the original gearbox that is in it is annoying me. It's doing 3450RPM @ 60MPH & 4000RPM @ 70MPH.
I think this is the standard box that came with the Sportings first day, which seem to have different gear ratios to the ELX 16v model.
Long story short, I'd like to put a Stilo 6 speed box in. I have a spare one and they look identical. Obviously i'd be using the mountings off the Puntos gearbox and whatnot..
The only thing that is concerning me are the drive shafts/cups..Will these fit straight in to the Stilo box or will there be issues? If anyone has experience with this, it would be a great help.
