The central locking on my Punto 55 sx is playing up. The nearside rear door refuses at times to respond to the key, to unlock and lock, now needing to do this door manually. Have taken the door card off and put wd40 in the connections as well as the door assembly. This was fine when reassembled but now again is playing up. Any ideas please?

WD40 is an oil not a switch contact cleaner!
It will either be a dodgy connection between the central locking switch or the switch is knackered. Seeing that WD40 fixed it for a while I would say a dodgy connection. Try taking the connections off, give them a clean and replace.
