Anyone know where the RH footwell ground point is on the mk2 punto?

I was poking around that area and now have radio interference and airbag light on, since they share a ground point in the RH footwell i'm inclined to think that's where the problem is... wondering if anyone knows where it is, otherwise i need to poke around looking for it.. i have no RH airbag (LHD) otherwise it would just be a case of following the airbag deactivation switch that also shares the same ground point..

Thanks

The Uk Punto Been Right hand drive has
A Earthing Point in the Passenger Footwell
And another on the driver side, its between the Steering Coloumn and the Center console (closer to the center console tho), its kinda hard to see and get to tbh.....

But since it's the otherway around for you (LHD) i'd suspect its Same as above but for you, Basically to the left of the Center console

thanks but i'm starting to think the problem is worse then i expected..

Yesterday night it blew the F3 maxi fuse (ignition switch) killing 99% of the car, since it was 2am i had little choice but to pull out F6 (low speed fan) and use that, drove about 10km before the lights dimmed for a second and everything died again.. as a last resort pulled out F4 (ABS) and got home where i replaced the fuses and disconected the battery...

Now as i look at the diagrams it looks hopeless, seems like most circuits have a smaller fuse but are still fused by the maxi fuse... i miss the old days where we had a hundred fuses but only one per circuit...

have not tested the car but did check and no other fuse is blown other then F3 (20A maxi) that shows up on the schematics as ignition switch fuse, F6 was a 30A maxi and blew as well so i'm thinking it has to be an intermittent short somewhere (lights dimmed before blowing).. battery tests out good and is still fully charged...

anyone have any ideias?

something is obviously pulling over 20amps

Which is ALOT
I dont believe the lights could blow the circuit - as they have just a standard mini 10amp fuse
Same for the Hi-beam

Have you checked the Main positive cable running from the battery to starter motor and alternator

Maybe something along that line is rubbing onto the bodywork?
I'm a little confused as well to be honest

didn´t check anything other then the battery yet..

i knew that taking out the fan fuse would be ok since in the 2 years i've owned it the fan only came on once but it tests fine, and i have no ABS... mine is the 1.9D...

seems like every circuit has another fuse after the maxi, except the charging system so i will check the main positive cable...

EDIT: checked the main positive cable from battery, starter, alternator and it looks good... looking at the schematics it seems fuse F3 goes from the engine bay fuse box to the ignition switch and then feeds the interior fuse box.. going to check that lenght next..

can´t edit the post anymore...

checked the cable from the engine fuse box all the way to the interior fuse box and found nothing wrong and no places it could short...

replaced F3 with a new 20A and started the car, ran for 30mins with lights off and another 30mins with lights on giving it some revs once in a while.. no blown fuses...oddly enough the fan came on during this time twice..

60A load test with lights off came back at 14.20V, lights on gave 14,09V...

There has to be something wrong, blowing the original 20A fuse could be a coincidence, replacing it with a 30A fuse and blowing that in 10mins means something is not right.. out of ideias though, has to be something with movement since now i ran the car parked and had no symptoms...

according to the schematics everything after F3 is fused with the exception of the charging circuit.. only thing i can think of is the starter/alternator shorting somewhere or the ignition switch being faulty.. wiggling and moving the ignition switch did not cause anything.. I'm thinking the static on the radio and this problem are related, there's a little static with the key on, engine on and no reception at all... alternator is OEM, a bit over a year old and has about 20kkms on it..

I was referring to the engine fan.. the car never goes over 90º since all of my trips are long (~100km) and with very little transit so hardly any stops.. one of the first tings i did after getting the car was swap out the clocks for the JTD ones, mine came stock with the basic set (speed/fuel) economy shown has been 25kpl for over a year so that shows how little start/stop driving i do...

I think the thread title is a bit wrong considering the new problem...
