My friend has a My friend has a 1999 mk1 PUNTO 85SX 16V

Driving to work we smelt something burning, electrical burn but couldnt tell where... then after when he went o spray the washer jets, it didnt work, neither did either of the front wipers or back. The right hand stalk is USELESS... everything else was ok... on way home, the left stalk lost SOME functions, no dipped beam, no full beam, just sidelights. Then no rear screen heater or rear fog worked. The rear fog is now intermittent... Indicators work on left stork..., when key left in ignition and car turned off the wipers moved like 2mm, ever so slightly!

The hazard button on the top side of the steering column, blinks when pressed, the exterior indicators blink BUT this blinking is not displayed on the DASH. Neither does any of the full beam/dipped lights are indicated on the dash. :bang:

All of these features WORKED yesterday.

Sounds similer to the problem i had about 2years ago, had an electricaly fault with the wireing, but it caused my car to actually stop working. I took it fiat and they replaced all the wires around the engine bay and that fixed it also had that strange smell but not fully sure.

Fiat couldn't work it out at first because it work one min and then not the other minute! but i never go back to fiat they charge me a packet! lol
