right just seeing if anyone else out there has a punto with rust on it, iv never seen one except my sisters (1995 selecta) which seems to have quite alot on it(tailgate is the worst, rear arches near bottom, sunroof, roof near windscreen and quite a bit else where). just a bit wierd that hers is the only one iv EVER seen. thanx. :mad:
 
yeah they are galvanised, the bloke next door to me has a 3 year old corsa and it is starting to rust already lol
 
at the mo hes got loads of primer all round the handles. wheel arch. and boot lol but says its cos his car is parked near the sea all day
 
No bodywork rust except for a steel plate just under the tailgate at the top above the glass, and a little bit inside one of the doors.
 
My Punto had rot around the tailgate lock (now fixed; seen quite a few with rot in the same place) and the rear jacking points are so rusty that one of them collapsed about 6 months ago when I was fitting a rear anti-roll bar. Seems to be a curse with me - my old Uno's sills were rotten and collapsed on the jack :bang: I actually got a MIG welder for xmas and still I can't be arsed to crawl under the Punto weld it up :rolleyes:
 
they bootlocks allways rust up for some reason, any other rust is from cheep crappy replacment body panels.
 
I noticed that the top of my drivers side front wheel arch is starting to rust :(
Maybe my boot lock is rusted too because it doesn't work :p

Mine had it round the tailgate lock - it was manufactured with a paint defect (think some money was taken off the list price for this) but took 6 years to bubble through. Then I sold it :D It had a couple of other spots bubbling through on the tailgate too.
 
Yeah I have rust on my Roof!!! About size of a 5p, looks like a area of paint has come off at some point from the 9 previous owners that have had it, haha. Luckily it seems to have only stayed in that area and hasn't spead :)
