First of all, I'm aware that there is somewhat a guide as to how to do the conversion on these forums..but I'm not completely convinced or 'daring' enough to go ahead with it.

Would somebody be willing to guide me as to what to do? Has anybody performed the switch?

Would the links above be what I need?

I'd be very greatful to anybody that would be able to help in any way, thanks.

Yup there the items.
I done this a couple of time and its worth the hour or so it takes. Once the clocks are out its also easy to remove the mileometer to adjust the reading to match your reading as well. Its fairly obvious how to do it once you look at them.
Just follow the guides for the rest.

Just as a thought, have you checked your local scrappy for a Mk1 with the same clockset? If not it might be worth it and then get the temp sender out of the same car.

Also dont use a scotch lock connector when "breaking into" the blue RPM cable as I found mine kept getting a poor connection.

Thanks for the reply,

Okay - atleast I'm on the right track with that one. :p

Would I need to buy any extra wiring? In that thread it seems you need to?

I haven't looked down at the scrappy yet due to not having the time yet, but will be sure to do so shortly. I'm just trying to gain as much knowledge as possible before I even take the first step so to speak. Lol.

I'll be sure to not use the scotch lock, cheers.

Again, thanks for the reply.
