Hi all,

I've worte this before about the engine, But did'nt give much detail on the issue.

My dad thinks it might be the small ends going/gone?

well here's the story lol

When the car is idleing I get a clicking/clunking noise from under the bonnet, around the top of the engine when getting my ear closer It sound at one min like its coming from the cam belt side, and in the other instance it sound like it's coming from the coil pack if thats what its called. The thing with the leads that go to the spark plugs :ROFLMAO:.

The other time it makes the same noise but more louder is if I go from say 2nd to 3rd gear and put my foot to the floor and the engine does'nt respond to it. So I have feather the accelerator gently in higher gears.

Its hard explain, Its like you put your foot down as if to join onto the m6 or somthing similair lol But the car makes that nasty harsh clunking sound and doesnt respond well.

We thought at first it might have been the timing out but re-did that with no difference to the problem, We tried new spark plugs and the same no difference. If I drive gently You still hear the noise just not as loud, all I can say is the more I put the engine under demand in higher gears the louder the noise unless I back off the accelerator.

Wow thats alot of writing lol

Any advice would be great. Do we have a mechanic in the house that would have a look/listen :ROFLMAO:

Just to add its a 55s mk1 1.1
