hey all .. i was just wondering a few things about the mk1 engines..

the 1.2 8v

would the cams from the sporting fit into this? would it make any difference?

how hard would it be to convert to the 16v is it just the top block bit of the engine?

You can fit a 75 cam to an 8v which is better than a 60 cam, the 16v has pretty much an entirely new block so if you want the top end you'll need the bottom end...and different fueling as its multipoint not single point injection and runs a more powerful pump too IIRC..

hmm. what a bummer i just got offered the sporting standard cams for free as a mate has just got fast road ones. ... so what benifit would come from the 75 cam?

You need to learn more about engines.

16v has two cams, 1 inlet 1 exhaust
8v has one cam which covers both.

75cam can be fitted without mapping but it's adviseable to map it.

It's not worth it.
