Hi all,

I have a Mk1 1996 1108cc Punto. I find that it hesitates on pulling away and on acceleration. Even at 50-60 mph I put my foot down and it will hesitate to pick up. Once it has picked up it seems ok.

I have fitted new plugs and not so long ago new plug leads. The plugs are gapped at 0.9mm (0.036") as per Haynes manual. The plugs seem a bit on the white side indicating a lean mixture.

Any help would be most welcome

Many thanks

Simon

Hi Pip,

Thanks for the info. Is that the sensor that sits close to the serrated wheel on the cranshaft pulley??

Cheers

Hi mate,

No, the lambda sensor is on the exhaust. A faulty lambda could give the symptoms you are having, as littlepip said.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I have been quoted £48.56 +vat for the Lambda sensor. Does this seem about right or are they available anywhere cheaper?

Thanks

if that's a proper fiat one it's a good price

it's best to get fiat ones as other makes do not work well atall in fiat's

shop 4 parts give £46.19 for a fiat one

I have this in the Panda randomly when putting my foot down. Hesitation sort of thing. I'm planning on eventually changing the Lambda when I get around to it. Just haven't got the time at the mo.

Hi everyone,

Just to let you all know, I replaced the Lambda sensor and it is running just fine now. So many thanks to all especially Littlepip.

Cheers
